Social Accountability 8000 (SA8000) has been developed by Social Accountability International (SAI).SAI is a non-profit affiliate of the Council on Economic Priorities (CEP). SA8000 is promoted as a voluntary, universal standard for companies interested in auditing and certifying labor practices in their facilities and those of their suppliers and vendors.

SA8000 is based on the principles of international human rights norms as described in International Labor Organization conventions.

TRIPS is an Agreement on Trade Related Aspects of Intellectual Property Rights administered by the World Trade Organization(WTO) that sets down minimum standards for many forms of intellectual property(IP) regulation.

TBT is an Agreement that tries to ensure regulations, standards, testing and certification procedures that create unnecessary obstacles and avoid the Technical Barriers to International Trade.

ISO standards provide requirements or give guidance on good management practice.The ISO 9000 family of standards represents an international consensus on good quality management practices. It consists of standards and guidelines relating to quality management systems and related supporting standards. ISO 9001:2000 is the standard that provides a set of standardized requirements for a quality management system, regardless of what the user organization does, its size, or whether it is in the private, or public sector.

Customs Trade Partnership against Terrorism CT-PAT

C-TPAT is a joint government-business initiative to build cooperative relationships that strengthen overall supply chain and border security.

C-TPAT recognizes that Customs can provide the highest level of security only through close cooperation with the ultimate owners of the supply chain importers, carriers, brokers, warehouse operators and manufacturers.

Through this initiative, Customs is asking businesses to ensure the integrity of their security practices and communicate their security guidelines to their business partners within the supply chain.
