| Narrative Description of Project: JICA Bangladesh Office engaged Young Consultants (YC) to conduct Fact-Finding Survey on Agriculture Finance and Agricultural Technical Assistance Program in Bangladesh to achieve the following objectives: Analyze the sub-sectors and regions with the highest demand for assistance, Find out the agricultural and financial needs of small and marginal farmers, small-scale agribusiness enterprises, Collect and analyze data/information on agricultural finance and training programs, Collect and analyze data/information on lessons of linking finance programs with trainings. Description of actual services provided by your staff within the assignment: Services under the project are-, Mobilization of the study team, Kick-off meeting with JICA officials, Preparation and submission of Inception Report and obtain approval of JICA, Desk study for collection of relevant documents (Agribusiness strategy papers, listing parameters and other relevant reports, documents and information), Reviewing documents of previous studies and study the agriculture sector in general, Study and analyze agribusiness sector in Bangladesh, Study and analyze the agriculture finance assistance scenario in Bangladesh, Study the agriculture sub-sectors in Bangladesh, Study and analyze features of regions on agricultural development and related features, Preparation and submission of outcome of the desk review : Interim progress report, identify regions with highest demand for agriculture finance, Conduct Key Informants Interview (KIIs) with all relevant Government ministries, Departments, Institutes, Projects, Researchers, Scientists, Academicians, Training Institutions, Private Sectors, Banks and MFIs, NGOs, Donors, Developments Partners, International Organizations, etc., Identify and analyze potential project sites, Identify priority sectors that require technical and financial assistance on the basis of the need assessment of the small and marginal farmers and small-scale agribusiness enterprises through 400 household surveys, 50 agribusiness enterprises surveys., Conduct Focus Group Discussions (FGD) on training and its impact on access to finance, KII and field visit on the JICA referred projects on ‘Northwest Crop Diversification Project’ of ADB and ‘Second Crop Diversification Program’ of (ADB), and ‘Borga Chasi Unnayan Project’, Conducted FGD to collect and analyze data on lessons of linking finance with training, Preparation and submission of outcome of field survey: Interim progress report, Prepare case study on already implemented action on agricultural finance and training and its impact, Data processing, analyzing and report writing, Submission of the draft report to JICA for comments and observations,Organize ‘Stakeholders’ Workshop’ for dissemination of the study findings, Finalization of the report incorporating JICA’s comments and observations (if any), Submission of Final Report to JICA Office | |
