Narrative Description of Project: The aim of the project was to identify if, why, and how Agriculture-Nutrition value chain could and should be applied to improve the nutrient concentration in rice products and therefore improve the ability for agricultural practices to contribute to better nutrition. The objective is to assess the market and business feasibility of nutritious rice value chain and recommend suitable context specific relevant nutritious rice interventions that will have potentiality to create impact at scale. The findings of the study will also provide strategic direction to the development of a replicable business model that aligns incentives for private sector engagement in better nutrition practices. Services provided by YC within the assignment were:The feasibility study is being addressed all the elements of marketing mix that includes product, price, physical distribution (trade channel management) and promotion areas. Feasibility studies is also being defined the dimensions of what it means for the specific agricultural practice to be ‘feasible’ and quantify the risks/challenges and risk mitigation measures, dependencies, and resources required for success and scale. The study will determine the relative return on investment (ROI), break-even sales value and quantity of each concept.
