Baseline Survey of the BLED Target Groups (TGs)

Young Consultants (YC) undertook the Baseline Survey of the BLED Target Groups (TGs) with funding from DFID through the BFP-B Fund. The assignment aimed to understand the living conditions, livelihood patterns, existing business activities, and financial inclusion status of selected target groups, particularly their access to banking services. The study focused on approximately ten occupational groups, including cobblers, plumbers, shoemakers, food vendors, gas technicians, carpenters, potters, and automobile mechanics, among others.

The YC study team conducted field-level data collection in Dhaka to establish baseline information on these groups. The collected data was intended to support the development of occupational profiles and a better understanding of the target groups’ socioeconomic and business circumstances. The project information indicates that approximately 2,000 baseline records had been collected by the study team, while the listed service description separately reports more than 500 records collected in Dhaka.
