Project Management & Implementation Support
YC maintains a pool of highly experienced and competent professionals in project management, covering all phases from planning to execution and monitoring. Some of the key project management assignments are outlined below:
- Assisted in Fact-Finding and Baseline Survey/ Study for Program Formulation for agriculture value chain improvement project (Loan &TA) (on-going)
- Assisted in Fact Finding Survey on Agriculture Finance and TA Program, JICA
- National Study on Market Feasibility and Business Plan Development for Nutritious Rice Value Chain Project
- Management and Implementation three grant programs (‘Euro –Bangla Apparels, Euro- Bengal Food and Euro Builders) in the RMG, Frozen Food and Construction, Housing and Real Estate Sector” funded by under Asia Invest Program of EC
- Preparation of Institutional Capacity Building Plan for Bangladesh Foreign Trade Institute, a PPP think tank in Bangladesh where training needs assessment was one of the key tasks.
- Organized workshop on “Sound Feasibility Studies-Benefits for Banks and Financial Institutions” – a half-day workshop attended by officials of bankers and NBFIs.
- Organized series of Information Dissemination and Promotion Session under SPF Program of EC for capacity building of prospective applicants for grants these includes local research institutes, media organizations, training institutes, trade and business associations and chambers of commerce and universities to undertake research in four identified areas
- Fact finding Survey on Agricultural Finance and Agricultural Technical Assistance in Bangladesh and designed training needs for the stakeholders
- Private Sector Development and Investment Promotion in Bangladesh through Infrastructure and Industrial Financing and Suggestion on the modality of financing in the potential lending scheme
- Value Chain Study on Textile and Garment Industry in Cambodia, Vietnam and Bangladesh and Development of a Central Body for Coordination within the Region
Currently, YC has been involved in implementing 2 Yen loan programs of JICA (Two-step Loan of FDI Promotion Project of Bangladesh Bank and Energy Efficiency and Conservation Promotion Finance Project of BIFFL) in consortium with the Japanese consulting firms. Besides, YC is also managing a 42-month long matching grant fund of US$ 10 million (Export Readiness Fund) funded by the World Bank, implemented by the Ministry of Commerce, Government of Bangladesh.
In the past, YC also disseminated different grant programs of the European Commission in Bangladesh for trade and investment promotion and business match making between Bangladesh and Europe. In the recent past, YC was engaged by JICA in formulation of yen loan projects through fact finding missions and preparatory studies for the government of Bangladesh in the area of agriculture finance, urban building safety and FDI promotion in the EZs.
Over the last 26 years, YC had the opportunity to work for a number of development projects of different donor agencies in Bangladesh and thereby, acquainted the team with the working environment, methods and procedures, procurement policies coupled with a strong sense of delivering quality and professional consulting services. Among the development projects, Bangladesh Investment Climate Fund (BICF), Matching Grant Facility, JOBS, ATDP-II, SLDP-II, Small Projects Facility, SEDF, RWECP, Asia-Wide Program, South-South Trade Promotion, etc.
