Consulting Services for IDCOL Biogas Programme Monitoring

Young Consultants (YC), in association with UPM Environment Project Management, was engaged by Infrastructure Development Company Limited (IDCOL), with support from KfW, to provide monitoring services for the IDCOL Biogas Programme across Bangladesh. The programme aimed to promote the installation and dissemination of domestic biogas plants and support the development of a sustainable, commercially viable biogas sector in the country.

The assignment involved the overall supervision and coordination of monitoring activities across project locations. YC mobilized the study team, designed the monitoring study, and prepared questionnaires to collect primary data and relevant information on biogas plant implementation and performance.

YC also organized orientation sessions for field investigators and conducted field surveys using Computer-Assisted Personal Interviewing (CAPI) methods. These activities supported systematic data collection and monitoring of biogas plants across the programme areas.

Throughout the assignment, YC coordinated monitoring activities and prepared interim and progress reports to document implementation status and findings. The firm also submitted a final report summarizing the monitoring activities and findings, supporting IDCOL’s oversight of the programme and its broader objective of developing the domestic biogas sector in Bangladesh.
