Duration:
September 2019-August 2023

The primary aim of the FDIP project is to catalyze the economic development of Bangladesh by fostering private sector investment and attracting foreign direct investment (FDI). This is achieved through the execution of various development initiatives such as the establishment of Economic Zones (EZs), industrial parks/estates, and similar ventures. The project also focuses on ensuring the seamless provision of financing to enterprises operating within these EZs, thereby enhancing their financial intermediary capabilities.

A key component of the project is the Two-Step Loan (TSL) program, overseen by Bangladesh Bank, which offers favorable financial arrangements to foreign-owned companies. This initiative significantly contributes to the advancement of FDIs within the country. The influx of FDI is pivotal in diversifying Bangladesh's industrial landscape and fostering sustainable economic growth.

As part of the project, nine (9) seminars were conducted to provide training to professionals engaged in the FDIP sector, further enriching their expertise and capacity to drive forward the project's objectives. Each workshop was attended by foreign and local participants.
