JICA Bangladesh decided to conduct a
survey on the local needs for BOP businesses in Bangladesh. This survey
intended to clarify the living situation of the BOP households and local market
situation with the methods of economic and statistical analysis and field-based
interviews. The main objectives of the study also included:
(1) Identifying the current economic and social living situation of the BOP
households
(2) Clarifying the features of the institutions & their services which BOP
households were accessing
(3) Capturing the features of each division, and identifying the local needs of the
BOP households.
Young Consultants was assigned by JICA to conduct the survey in the second
phase.
