YC has acquired specialized expertise and a unique capacity in conducting socio-economic research and survey through data collection on specific areas including poverty, remittance and migration, women's economic empowerment, and inclusive labour markets. Its operations specifically encompass research and analysis of trade and investment policies, regulatory reforms, economic and social impact assessment, access to finance for vulnerable groups, and mapping of community and enterprise-level socio-economic conditions. Working with the Planning Commission, Bangladesh Bank, government ministries and international development partners including the World Bank, UNCTAD/WTO-ITC, the European Union and IFC, YC has helped shape policy and programme design through rigorous, field-based socio-economic analysis built up over more than 29 years of practice. YC has a strong expert’s pool including socio-economists, gender specialists and policy researchers with recognized technical excellence in understanding the social and economic problems, constraints and challenges faced by communities and enterprises, complemented by veteran senior statisticians with hands-on experience in survey design, key informant interviews, focus group discussions, and statistical analysis using packages such as SPSS and STATA. YC has formed strong professional linkages with the Planning Commission, government ministries, trade bodies and international development partners who support and contribute to its efforts towards inclusive socio-economic development across Bangladesh.
